Winter Jam 2010

Last night we went to Winter Jam 2010 with the Huskeys. It was a huge Christian music concert that was only $10 at the American Airlines Arena. It was packed out! We pulled up and there were tons of church vans and swarms of kids. We saw Fireflight, Newsboys, Third Day, Fifth Avenue North, Rupert Pierre, and Sidewalk Prophets. My two favorites were Newsboys and Fifth Avenue North.

Abigail came over here and Madi McCrary babysat the girls. We got home about 11:30 and the girls had crashed in their sleeping bags in the living room. It was so cute!

Chez Ami Spring 2010 trunk

Yesterday when I got home from work a large box was sitting on my front porch. My Chez Ami trunk full of clothes and accessories arrived two days early. It is so fun opening that huge box and seeing all the clothes. Taylor asked me if all the clothes were for her. She was a little dissapointed when I said no, but cheered up when I told her we could play dress up.

We raced home from Houston yesterday morning to make it to Abigails birthday party. Taylor would of never forgiven us if we would of missed it. Her and Abigail are best friends and it is pretty cute seeing how excited they get when they see each other. Taylor had a blast at Abigails party eating cupcakes, breaking the pinata, and playing with Abigails new toys.

3rd Annual Tea Party

Mom and I hosted our 3rd annual tea party in Kingwood Saturday. Not everyone could make it this year, but we had three kiddos and two on the way. My mom and I started doing this three years ago when Taylor was only a few months old. We don't make it down to Houston that often and if we do go down, we are usually busy with our family and don't get to see our friends. We thought this would be a fun tradition to start so we can see everyone at least once a year. It is so nice to get to hang out with my girls and their precious babies. It is fun to see the proud grandmas too!

Homemade hair cut

Tuesday night I got the itch to cut Taylor's hair. I figured it wouldn't be that hard to cut a straight line - boy was I wrong. Taylor did a great job sitting still, but she wouldn't keep her head tilted to the side I wanted it at. Taylor was very excited for me to cut her hair. I did cut it shorter than I wanted it to be and of course, it dried shorter than I expected. I think it is too short and Nathan couldn't believe I cut her hair myself. Taylor kept saying, "Mommy I like it, it's fine".

It dried so much shorter than I imagined. It isn't quite even either. I don't think I will be cutting her hair again.

Valentines Day 2010

This was Taylor's 3rd Valentines Day. We started the day by giving Daddy his Valentines and then Taylor got to open her Valentines Day present. After church and nap, we headed to the Frisco mall to shop. When Taylor saw the carousel in the food court, she begged to go on it. Nathan took her on a ride and then we went to the Build-a-Bear shop. Taylor picked a horse and then a precious Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit. She named her horse "Coco" from the books Cowgirl Kate and Coco by Erica Silverman. We had dinner at Buca di Beppo which was fabulous. During dinner Taylor said, "This is really, really, really good!" Nathan gave me my Valentines gift at dinner - tickets to the Bon Jovi concert!!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am! After dinner Nathan treated us to frozen yogurt at Cherry On Top. When we got home tonight, Taylor introduced Coco to all her other animal friends. It was such a nice, relaxing Valentine's Day.

I didn't get anymore pictures tonight because my camera battery died while taking pictures of Taylor and Nathan on the carousel. So sad!

"The Rescuer"

Every night before bed we read a bible story out of our new children's bible. It is one of the best children's bibles I have ever read and Taylor loves it. It has stories from the old testament and the new testament and at the end of each story, it talks about God sending his son to be our rescuer in the old testament (we just started the new testament tonight). After every story, we stop and talk about it to make sure Taylor understood what we were talking about and so she will remember the stories. Every night we talk about "The Rescuer" that God is going to send. Friday night we asked Taylor who "The Rescuer" was and she said "Diego" from Go Diego Go (nickelodeon cartoon). Nathan about fell off the bed he was laughing so hard and I couldn't help but laugh. Taylor started cracking up too. I said, "No, who is The Rescuer that God is going to send us?" and she said, "No mommy, Diego rescues animals!". We had to agree with her and then reiterate that God was going to send Jesus to be our "Rescuer".

Snow Day

What a beautiful day today! We went outside three times today to play in the snow. I think Taylor would of stayed outside all day if I would of let her. She loved building snowmen, making snow angels, and throwing snowballs.

Valentines for preschool

Taylor got to wear her Valentines outfit and take her valentines for her friends and teachers to school today. She has been waiting for 2 weeks to get to wear her giraffe shirt to school. Last night she put stickers on all of her valentines for her friends and then we made homemade valentines for her teachers. She was so excited to hand out her valentines and get valentines.

Super Bowl Party

Sunday we had a few friends from Nathan's work over for the Super Bowl. One of the couples has a daughter who is 4 and her and Taylor just played and played the entire time. It was so nice. They maybe came out of the playroom twice the whole night.

Curling her hair

Sunday I was curling my hair for church when Taylor came into our bathroom. She wanted me to curl her hair, so I did. I was a nervous wreck because I wasn't sure if she was going to stay still enough so I didn't burn her. I just kept reminding her to stay still - she did relatively well. I just put a few curls in and left it at that. Trust me, she was ready to be done. She doesn't like to stand still for very long .......what 2 year old does? Her hair already has some natural curl so you couldn't really tell I curled her hair. Nathan couldn't tell any difference.

Watching Snow White for the first time

We have been watching tons of Disney movies including the classics like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Fox and the Hound, Cinderella and the newer Little Mermaid. Taylor walked around going, "I'm a hound dog" all night after watching The Fox and the Hound. Then she turned to Beaux (our mini Beagle) and said, "Beau, you are a hound dog".


Taylor watched Snow White for the first time on Monday. She decided that she had to wear her Snow White dress. I think she liked the movie because she asked to watch it Tuesday and she wanted to wear her dress again.........she got side tracked when she saw the case for Peter Pan and Tinkerbell was on it. Let's just say that we ended up watching Peter Pan.
