Decorating for Christmas

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we decorated for Christmas. Thankfully my parents were still here to help and we finished decorating in one day instead of 2-3 days it usually takes me to decorate the house. Mom and me decorated the house, Nathan and Taylor decorated the tree and Nathan, my dad and Taylor put the lights outside along with our new snowman and santa blow ups.

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year since Zoey was only 5 weeks old. My parents, Nathan's parents, my dad's cousin and Nathan's friend Michael all came to share Thanksgiving with us. We had a really nice, relaxing Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for and we it was wonderful getting to spend time with family and friends over the holiday. Wednesday we went to the dinosaur exhibit at the natural science museum, Thursday we shared Thanksgiving dinner together and Friday we went to see the Disney movie Tangled.

Dinosaurs

Taylor has been asking for months to go to the dinosaur museum and we finally went the day before Thanksgiving. All of the grandparents and my dad's cousin were here and were able to go with us. The natural science museum had a special dinosaur exhibit with animatronic dinosaurs.

Taylor was a little scared of this enourmous T Rex at first when he roared at her and moved, but then she loved him when we told her that he wasn't real.

The simple joys in life

Today at lunch we were watching the cowboys game in our pajamas (love chillin' in our pjs all day!). Taylor said she was cold and would like a hot drink with her lunch. Well, she doesn't like coffee (she says she's not old enough to drink it yet and that only old people drink it), the only hot tea we have has caffeine in it (the last thing a 3 year old needs is caffeine!) and that leave hot chocolate. Taylor has never had hot chocolate before. Since I'm allergic to chocolate and Nathan isn't a huge chocolate fan, we have just never given Taylor hot chocolate - never really thought about giving it to her. Anyways, I made her some hot chocolate with marshmallows to go with her lunch.

You would of thought it was Christmas or something, she loved it and thought it was the greatest thing in the world! She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time she drank it and after every sip, she talked about eating the marshmallows once all the hot chocolate was gone. It was so sweet and innocent! I love watching her find new things in life that make her happy and excited. Now I just hope she doesn't ask for hot chocolate with every meal!

Taylor is sick

Taylor has had a fever for 4 days now. We went to the doctor today and she has strep throat. We've been giving her motrin which takes the fever down, but when it wears off, her fever shoots back up. It got up to 104 the other night and usually stays around 102 now. Taylor has been a good sport about staying away from Zoey and has done her best to not get near her. Taylor has been held up in our room during the day watching TV and playing on her iphone. Yes, I said iphone. Nathan got a new phone and gave Taylor his iphone to play games on (that is all she can do on it). She loves it! She knows how to turn it on, get to the game she wants and how to play all the games. I have to admit, she is really good at the memory game. She loves laying in our bed watching tv and playing.
She doesn't look very sick here - but I promise she is.

Zoey is 1 month old!

Zoey turned one month old yesterday! This has been the fastest month. She is doing awesome - she is a great eater and sleeper and loves to just hang out with us. Nathan and I are super tired, but are so thankful she is an easy baby. I can't imagine if she wasn't. Having 2 kids is exhausting, but we wouldn't change it for anything!

(just thought this was a cute pic)

Sleep walking

Taylor went to Tammy's (babysitter) on Monday for the day. When I went to pick her up, Tammy said, "Has this ever happened before?....." That is not the question you want your babysitter to ask you when you go to pick up your kid. She said that during nap, Taylor was sound asleep and then all of a sudden jumped up out of her nap mat and started running around the house. She said she would tell Taylor to go lay down and Taylor would look at her and then just keep running around the house. She said it only lasted a few minutes, but was crazy. Now I am worried about Taylor sleeping upstairs. We've put the gate up at the top of the stairs, just in case she sleep walks again. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treat

Our church hosts a Trunk or Treat every Halloween for the community. People decorate their trunks and have games for the kids to play. Last year was our first year to attend and Taylor loved it. She had a great time this year too playing all the games and seeing her friends.

Time to trick or treat!
