Baby Update - 36 weeks

We are 36 weeks pregnant and had our first weekly doctor's appointment today. The doctor said that Zoey is measuring about 6 lbs and her heartbeat is strong and normal. I am dialated to a 1 and am 50% effaced! She said there is only about a 10% chance that Zoey will arrive this week. I would like for her to arrive in October anyways, so I am okay with that. Taylor was 3 weeks early, so I really, really hoping Zoey is 3 weeks early. We are getting very excited for Zoey to arrive and her nursery is all ready.

Dallas baby shower

My sweet friends threw us a 'Diapers and Monograms' shower on Sunday.

The dragsters are really loud!
Saturday we spent the day down in Ennis watching the drag races. It was the first time I had ever been to these kind of races and it was a first for Taylor too, of course. Our friend Brian drives a funny car, Nathan's cousins from Odessa drive a dragster and his other cousins and Uncle from Odessa drive a dragster. It rained part of the day so the races were delayed for several hours. It was nice getting to spend time with Nathan's family that we usually only get to see once a year at the family Christmas party.
Taylor loved the races and has been asking for a pink race car ever since!

Tricycle lessons

Taylor has made rode her tricycle 3 or 4 times. We took her out front the other day and tried to teach her how to ride her tricycle. She honestly could have cared less. She would push once and roll, then stop and try to get off the tricycle. We would tell her that her friends can all ride their tricycles (trying to motivate her) and she would say, "good for her/him". We finally got her to ride a short distance and then she was done.

The official countdown has started!

Yesterday, September 21 was officially one month away from my due date. I have to admit that I am beyond ready to no longer be pregnant and have Zoey here. The nursery is ready for her and so are we. Taylor arrived three weeks early and I am praying that Zoey will too. I would really like for her to arrive anytime after October 1st.

One of our dear friends had her baby Sunday and we went up to see them Monday night at the hospital. Taylor was so excited to see baby Scarlett. She seems to understand that Zoey will look just like baby Scarlett when she arrives and is so excited for Zoey to get here. Nathan and I are a little nervous about have 2 kids and how to juggle them, so if anyone has any advice, please, please, please share it with us!

I will be off work for 3 months when Zoey arrives and I am so excited to get to spend that much time with Zoey and Taylor. Taylor will still go to Tammy's 2 days a week and she has preschool another 2 days a week, so that will be nice for all of us. That will give Taylor her normal schedule and her own time, plus give me some time to get my head wrapped around having a baby again.

Can't wait to meet Zoey Katherine Theaux!

Houston baby shower

Last weekend we drove down to Houston late Friday night. Nathan got to play golf with an friend from college Saturday morning. Saturday we did a little shopping in the morning and Taylor took her piggy bank to the bank to deposit her money. She was so excited to put her money in the bank like big people do. Nathan's parents came in around lunch time and we had the fabulous Chelsea's for lunch. It is a staple whenever we are in Kingwood for a weekend. I wish they had a Chelsea's here in Dallas somewhere. It is the greatest deli in the world - it is the only place I like to get sandwiches at. Sorry, got distracted talking about Chelsea's. Okay, so after lunch the men went to a movie and we had a baby shower at mom's house.

The shower was a blast and it was so good to get to see all our friends. It makes me miss the girls so bad when I only get to see them for a few hours every once in a while. We got to see two friends new babies and catch up with old friends. Taylor loved the baby shower and even got some presents herself which she absolutely loved!

Saturday night we went out to eat and then I was ready to go to bed right after we put Taylor down. I was so tired from our super fun day. Sunday morning we got up early and headed back to Dallas at 8am. I had a Scentsy party to get home for and get the house ready for. It was a nice weekend, but I was completely exhausted.

Tracy's wedding

Saturday night we went to Waco for Tracy and Justin's wedding. Tracy looked beautiful, as always, and the wedding was fabulous. Tracy is a dear friend from college and we've been through a lot together, to say the least. We are so excited for her and Justin! they had a cupcake wedding cake and the cupcakes were phenomenal! They were by far the best cupcakes I've ever had. Nathan made me stop after 3 mini cupcakes even though I begged for more! Taylor had a great time dancing with Nathan and twirling in her dress.

First week of Preschool

Tuesday was Taylor's first day of preschool. I didn't get to take Taylor that morning and thankfully my parents were in town and could take her to school while I had to work. When they got to school, the power was out from the storm, but the kids got to stay and have class with flashlights till the power came back on. Taylor was so excited when I picked her up and told me all about the power being out, using flashlights, and how awesome her new class was.

First day of preschool

Taylor was so excited to get to go back to school today. We signed up to take snack today, so that means she gets to be line leader all day - which is the coolest thing in preschool! Love that she loves preschool so much!

Shirts for my girls

I've had the hardest time trying to find "big sis" and "lil' sis" shirts for the girls in the correct sizes. Mom and I made Taylor a "big sis" shirt to wear to the hospital when Zoey arrives and a "lil' sis" onesie for Zoey to wear once she arrives. We also made a "T" shirt and "Z" onesie for the Taylor and Zoey. I can't wait to see the girls in their matching shirts!

Sea turtle for Zoey

I wanted paintings for the girls rooms and just couldn't find what I wanted in any of the stores. I decided to paint my own pictures for the girls. Zoey got a sea turtle and Taylor asked for a pony picture, but I can't draw a pony, so she decided to go with a turtle.

Oregon State University vs. TCU

Saturday night we went to the Cowboys Stadium for the Oregon State University vs. Texas Christian University game with my parents. They both went to Oregon State and were excited that the Beavers were playing in Texas. We had a great time at the game and it was a really good game. TCU did win, but it was a close game. Taylor called it the "Beaver Game" which to her was the white team vs. the black team. She kept telling us that the white team (Oregon State) needed to win and the black team needed to stop stopping us.
Mom had been in Oregon last week and brough Taylor a Beaver shirt to wear to the game, so Taylor was decked out in Oregon State attire.
