Cheerleading Competition

This morning we went to Cowboy Stadium to watch Taylors cousin Berkley dance and cheer in the 1st Annual Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Competition. Berkleys squad won 1st place for dance and we had to leave before the award ceremony for cheerleading, but they did awesome in cheer as well. Several of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were there to help hand out awards, take pictures with and give autographs. Taylor wore her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading outfit and Zoey wore her little green cheerleading outfit. Taylor had a blast and I am going to have to try harder to find her somewhere to take cheerleading classes.

Taylor and Zoey jammin'

Taylor played her guitar and sang for Zoey yesterday. Zoey just smiled and laughed the whole time and I think Taylor loves making Zoey laugh and smile. They are going to be the best of friends.

Zoey's first playdate

Zoey had her first playdate on Friday. Scarlett Bedford is almost exactly one month older than Zoey. They just looked at each other and stared. Scarlett came to visit Zoey at the hospital when she was first born. I just know the girls are going to grow up to be best friends! It is going to be so fun when they are old enough to play together and socialize.

Checking each other out..........

Love the looks on the girls faces! Too funny!

Zoeys first time in her jumperoo

I pulled out Zoeys jumperoo on Friday and she absolutely loved it! She looked mesmerized for about the first 30 minutes she sat in it. She touched everything and played with everything. She also loves the dogs. She watches them and laughs when they run around and play.

St. Patrick's Day 2011

This was Zoey's first St. Patrick's Day. She was all decked out in Shamrocks and green. She had a big day - Tammy (the babysitter) said she rolled over all day and slept on her tummy for 1 1/2 hours. Zoey does not like to be on her tummy, so that was huge! She also slept on her side during her nap when she got home from Tammys - so cute!

Taylor is in Houston with my parents and they went to the rodeo yesterday. Then when they got home, they were outside and Taylor got bite by a snake on the finger. Thankfully it was just a garter snake, so it wasn't poisonous. Mom said it scared her to death. They went to the emergency room and the doctor said she is fine. Taylor told me all about it this morning. She told me that the snake poked her - he didn't bite her. She is okay and that is all that matters!

Quote of the day

Taylor says things from time to time that just crack us up and I don't want to forget them, so what better place to share them then on our blog.

After Sunday School this morning, we asked Taylor what her bible study was about. She said, "Jesus heals the hurt cheetas". Nathan and I were stumped and then we figured it out - 'Jesus heals the lepers'. We just cracked up when we figured it out!

Oh my sweet little Taylor - I love you!

Picture Pizza

Wednesday night we made 'picture pizza' for dinner. Taylor has been watching Bubble Guppies on Nickelodeon lately and they made picture pizzas the other day. Taylor made a sailboat picture pizza (last photo) - let me know if you can see the sailboat!

The 'sailboat' picture pizza! Can you see it?

Ear infections

Taylor got an ear infection last week and she seems to be fine. Zoey on the other hand........not so much. Sunday night Zoey was up the entire night. She had been pulling on her ears a little bit, but nothing to where I would think there was something wrong. She went to bed at 6:30pm Sunday night and cried a little bit - her norm. She then woke up at 9:30pm Sunday night screaming. Zoey is not a screamer. She is a very happy, laid back baby just like Taylor was. She literally screamed and cried all night long. Every time we went to lay her down in her crib, she would scream even louder. She slept on and off in our arms in 10-20 minute naps. We had to hold her and walk with her the entire night. I only slept from 5:30-6:30am and that is only because Nathan took a shift with Zoey so I could sleep. The night was brutal! We went to the doctor first thing in the morning and he said that Zoey had a double ear infection. He said that every time we went to lay her down, the pressure in her ears was hurting her. Poor little thing! Once we got her some antibiotics and pain reliever ear drops, she has been back to her sweet, happy self.

Teachable Moments

Last week when the girls and I were at the grocery store, we had a teachable moment. The man sacking our groceries was "special". His face was distorted and his voice was a little different. Taylor did a great job saying Hi to him and being very sweet. He was a very nice man. As soon as we walked away with our groceries, Taylor turned to me and pulled her face to look like the sacker and asked me why he looked like that. I got her to stop pulling on her face and told her we would talk about it in the car. Thankfully she stopped and we talked about it in the car.

We talked about how God made everyone different and some people even look different. You have to love a childs innocence. She then told me that he was a nice man and I told her that just because people look different doesn't mean that they aren't nice. I also told her that we are always nice to everyone no matter what - whether they look different then us or if they are not always nice to us. She seemed to understand what I was saying. Then her 3 year old attention span kicked in and she informed me that daddy's (Nathan) hair was getting long. I have no idea where that came from!
