Rainforest Cafe

Tonight for dinner we took Taylor to the Rainforest Cafe. I figured Taylor would love it and I think she did. There were only a few times that she was scared - mostly when the animals would all start moving and making noise. She really liked the butterfly and the leopard. She loved the elephants from a distance.
Yes, Taylor is sporting a monkey backpack with a tail/leash. She loves it and so do we. She loves to hold the tail/leash with us. She is going through an independent phase and this way, she has some space and we still have control of her. It works great. I always hated seeing those kids on the leashes (usually the handcuff type) when I was younger - I though the parents were so mean to do that to their kids. Now I understand. Taylor likes it, so I don't mind using it. We only use it every once in a while. Taylor likes to carry the monkey around the house and then drag him by the leash. Too cute.

My Farewell to Starbucks .........sort of

Almost every morning that I go into the office (twice a week), I stop at Starbucks and get a Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte. The last few times I have stopped to get my coffee (at 2 different locations), they have messed up my order. I'll just tell you about the last 2 times: The first time I got a tall instead of a grande - which isn't too big of a deal, but how much you have to pay for coffee, you should get what you paid for, so I sent it back to get my bigger coffee. The lady was super nice about it, etc.. Well, this morning I stopped and got my usual coffee at a drive through and didn't drink it till I got to the office. All I know is that it isn't a vanilla latte. Whatever it is, it taste like dirt. The sad part is, I paid $5.00 for this coffee, so I am going to drink it. Plus my office is freezing cold and I need something to warm me up.

I have been trying to break my habit of going to Starbucks every morning I go into the office, so I think it is time to stop going. There are several reasons I want to stop going - mainly because it eats away at my allowance. Yes, that's right, I have an allowance. Which I actually love having because Nathan doesn't question anything I buy with my allowance because I can do whatever I want with it. Okay, sorry, getting off topic here. Anyways, it is getting warmer outside too, so I won't need my hot coffee anymore - except to stay warm in the office, but I can heat up some green tea for that I guess.

Anyways, I think this is as good a time as any to break my habit of Starbucks. And I'm not saying I'll never go there again, I'm just saying I won't be going twice a week for my breakfast coffee. We'll see how long I can hold out!

Screaming, crying, and a little snake

Yep, that's right, I said snake! I was working in my office this morning when I stood up to go into the living when I saw a baby garden snake slithering near my office window. I kind of freaked and grabbed Taylor up immediately. I called Nathan all frantic and insisted he come home and save us from this little snake. The snake was itty bitty (about 8 inches long and super skinny), but a snake is a snake! I put a bowl over the snake to keep him in place till Nathan got home.

Nathan came home immediately and took him outside. While Nathan was trying to get him outside in the bowl, he peaked his little head out and I started screaming and freaking out. Well, me freaking out upset Taylor and she started crying and screaming. What a mess we are! Nathan just laughed at us.

Attack of the crawfish

After we went to the hospital last night to meet Baby Remington, we had dinner with some other friends at Nate's which is a seafood restaurant. Our waiter brought us a bowl of boiled crawfish (yum!) to try since it was our first time there. Everyone had one and when I took one, Taylor seemed interested in it, so I showed it to her. At first she seemed okay, but the closer I put the crawfish to her, the more she freaked out. It was so sad. Nathan and I even both kissed the crawfish (the things you do for your child) to show her that it wouldn't hurt her, but she was having no part of it. She almost completely climbed out of her high chair at one point. We finally had to put the crawfish under a bowl so she couldn't see him anymore.

Baby Remington Jade Stone

We went to go see our friends sweet, sweet, precious little brand new baby girl last night. Oh yall, she is beautiful! Rhett and Lacey are the proud parents of little baby Remington. Rhett and Lacey didn't find out the sex of the baby, so we were delighted to hear it was a girl thursday when she arrived! We were rooting for a girl. She was so little and adorable and I got to hold her for the longest time. I got to rock her to sleep and I just didn't want to give her back. Taylor wasn't to keen on me holding the baby and not holding her. She did okay though.

not much to say lately

I feel like I haven't really blogged in a while, but there hasn't been much going on lately to blog about. The other day I was going to blog and just sat there starring at the screen trying to think of something to write about. Nothing good came to mind, so I nixed that blogging session and did some online shopping. Just to let you know, my on-line shopping consists of me putting everything I want in my little cyber "shopping bag" and then never actually checking out. Some times it is just a good stress reliever. I can "buy" whatever I want and never have to pay for it (but I also never actually get anything either).

We did have some friends over last night for dinner and had a blast. It was so nice to have a relaxing meal with friends while the kids played. Chloe and Taylor did great playing in the playroom while we all finished dinner in the dining room. Chloe is 9 months older than Taylor, but it seems like they are years apart. Taylor seems so young compared to Chloe right now, but they will actually be in the same grade when they start 1st grade. I love watching Chloe and thinking, that is what Taylor will be doing in 9 months.

Tonight we are going to go see precious little Remington Jade Stone who was born Thursday morning at 1:30am. Poor Lacey (the mom) was a week and a half over her due date and Remington still didn't want to come out. She was apparently fond of her nice warm home inside Lacey. I can't wait to go see her tonight and welcome her to the world! Don't you just love babies!! Every time I see a baby lately, it gives me baby fever, but not Nathan. He wants to wait to have number 2 till Taylor is at least 3 years old. I can live with that, but is sure is hard to see all these precious little babies lately. It's not like I want to have another baby because I enjoyed being pregnant or anything. No sir, I really didn't like being pregnant most of the time. I was in pain, the size of a house and an emotional basket case! Who would think that was fun? It was all worth it though for the awesome little Taylor we know and love. I would do it all again in a heart beat. I really can't understand how some ladies have 15 babies. You would be pregnant for like 2 decades straight. No thank you!

Alright, I have rambled on enough so I guess I will get back to work.

All better!!

I'm guessing that yall are tired of reading about how sick we are and how hard it is to take care of sick people, blah, blah, blah. Well, I was getting tired of being sick. As of today, we are all better and super happy to be well. Taylor gets to go to school tomorrow and that makes both of us happy!
