Easter 2010......our Easter Secret

Friday afternoon we headed out of town to Brownwood. Nana had 18 eggs ready for us to color when we got there. Taylor had a blast coloring on the eggs and then dying them.

Saturday morning my parents met us in Brownwood at Nathan's parents house. Once the family was together, Taylor put on her Easter outfit and told the grandparents our Easter secret!

"This chick has an Easter secret..."
"I'm going to be a big sister!"

The grandparents were so excited to hear that Taylor is going to be a big sister. We told Taylor 2 weeks ago about the baby. She went to our first sonogram with us to see the baby. We weren't sure if she would fully understand, but she does. She pats my tummy and tells people that there is a baby in my tummy. When we first told her, she was calling the baby "Baby Jesus". We have told her numerous times that this is not Baby Jesus in my tummy, but a baby like Baby Jesus. She seems really excited to get to be a big sister. She asks all the time if she can change the diapers and feed the baby - my answer is always yes! She does change her mind daily whether she wants a baby brother or a baby sister. Nathan is trying to talk her into a baby brother - I'm rooting for either.

Nathan's grandparents, Uncle John, Uncle Mark, and Aunt Hattie came over for Easter lunch on Saturday. After lunch Taylor went on an Easter egg hunt in the front yard and was surprised by Poppy with 7 colored baby chicks! She loved getting to pet the chicks and hold them.

Sunday morning the Easter bunny came by the ranch and left Taylor a ton of Easter baskets/presents. It felt like a mini Christmas or something. She got 3 large pink bunny rabbits, 5 Easter baskets and a ton of stuff!

My parents left after breakfast to head back to Houston. We got ready and headed to church with Nathan's parents. Taylor sat through the service with us and did great. I never realized how much of a wiggle worm she is. She did a great job keeping quiet and playing with her toys, but she was up and down the whole time.
